Coole Fenster
While the climate crisis is omnipresent and overheating of interiors during summer has, especially in urban areas, become an annual problem, many approaches for solutions neglect the fact that even in worst case climate scenarios, substantial heating periods are still to be expected. The exploratory research project “Coole Fenster” chooses a holistic reflection of the partly opposed demands of buildings during summer and winter and, using simulation software, seeks to examine approaches for optimised solar and daylighting management, in order to achieve physiologically appropriate indoor conditions either without or with minimised active cooling.
