Chain of Custody (CoC) according to FSC®

Since 2008 Holzforschung Austria also maintains an international approval through FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) for Chain of Custody certifications (FSC-ACC-024, worldwide except People's Republic of China). Thus certifications according to both systems (i.e. PEFC and FSC®) which are often requested can also be conducted.

Information, procedure and general regulations:

Short information about the certification process can be found here.

Detailed information about the complaint procedure can be found here.

The FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) is a nongovernmental, nonprofit organization that promotes an environmentally and socially responsible use of forests and was launched 1993. The organization is supported worldwide by environmental organizations, trade unions, representatives of interest groups of indigenous peoples as well as numerous companies in the forestry and timber industry. The aim of FSC® is to make a contribution to the improvement of forest management worldwide. Holzforschung Austria is accredited by FSC® as a certification body for Chain of Custody (COC).

Costs of the certification:

The costs for the certification are estimated on the basis of the anticipated expenses. All clients who are interested in getting FSC certified receive an individual offer based on a filled out questionnaire. In addition to the costs mentioned in the offer we are obliged to charge the FSC-AAF (annual accreditation fee) on behalf of FSC which is directly forwarded to them. If you have further questions we are happy to help you.

In the FSC Database you can search for certified companies worldwide.
