Development of a model for the safety characterisation of bonded joints used for load bearing structural timber components

The adhesive bond strength between solid wood elements depends on various factors such as the surface characteristics of the wood. Therefore, a primary objective of this research project is to characterize and assess different surface planing methods and their effects on adhesive application and bond strength.

The results will be used for the development of methods to determine the optimal working parameters for wood processing industry.
