In the container village of the Universität Innsbruck, containers were built in timber construction, one of them in solid wood construction and another in wood-clay construction. The indoor air quality was examined over a period of almost two years. The data obtained were compared with data from a steel container before and after renovation. There was a sharp decrease in emissions during the use phase, which is characteristic of the building materials used. Additional emission sources such as the office furniture brought in, but also human activities in the interior space, make an additive contribution to indoor air composition.
