Climate Change. A keyword that became a turning point in the management of our forests. With a modified supply of wood species, the use of hardwood in construction is now within reach. Since most native hardwoods show only a low natural durability, suitable protection concepts are required for future use. This is being investigated within the scope of the OptTreat research project "Optimizing the distribution of active ingredients in hardwood". The focus is on protecting hardwoods against wood-destroying fungi, researching the distribution of active ingredients in the wood substrate and protecting the environment by minimizing leaching of active ingredients.
