The SmellProcess project is devoted to the unanswered question of how undesirable emissions can be avoided when storing wood fuel pellets. The implementation takes place in cooperation between Bioenergy 2020+, Holzforschung Austria and TU Graz together with proPellets Austria and a number of industrial partners. Various methods, such as additives using antioxidants or targeted raw material blending, are being tested at the technical centre and industrial levels in order to influence the emission characteristics of the products in a targeted manner. In addition, analytical methods and spectroscopic measurement processes are examined with regard to their reproducibility.
