Sound Wood Austria
In the course of the three-year research project Sound.Wood.Austria, Holzforschung Austria, together with TU Graz and several industrial partners, investigated the soundproofing of ceilings and walls in timber frame and solid wood construction. In addition, the sound transmission at typical joints as well as the applicability of forecasting methods for simplified sound insulation planning for timber constructions have been considered. The aim of the project was to provide planners with access to a well-founded database and thus to reduce uncertainties in the building acoustics planning of timber buildings.
