Examination of the behaviour of alternative wood preservatives in weathered outdoor areas
This project serves to expand current knowledge about the behaviour of new, alternative wood preservatives in weathered outdoor areas. For this purpose, examinations are conducted on wash-off behaviour as well as on any active substance entry into soil and water.
Furthermore, the behaviour of new alternative wood preservatives in combination with hydrophobizing coatings and with fasteners is examined. Using the example of a noise protection wall made of wood, the findings are to lay the technical and scientific basis for achieving the future required service life of at least 25 years.
