The thermal improvement of the window comprises the use of contemporary and innovative glass products, such as vacuum glass. There, the specifics of vacuum glass, an excellent U-value (currently 0.4 Wm-2K-1) with extremely thin overall glass thicknesses (8–10 mm), low weight and the necessary deep glass opening of approx. 40 mm must be taken into account in corresponding innovative window constructions. In this regard, this research project will include a transition of the results achieved in the MOTIVE exploratory study into two to three fully functional prototypes. The project is carried out in cooperation with the TU-Wien and 7 business partners.
